In november 2025, Pamflett (Bergen, Norway) and Hand Saw Press (Tokyo) launched the artists’ book The woods we live in, by Norwegian artist Aurora Solberg.
The woods we live in is a truly beautiful book, featuring Aurora's original watercolour paintings printed using the risograph technique. The first edition was launched in 2024 by Pamflett, and it quickly sold out in Norway and became a much-talked-about title.
Aurora Solberg is a visual artist based in Norway. She works with watercolor paintings in various formats. Her practice explores color, materials, and composition, primarily through watercolor on paper. The artworks and projects stem from an ongoing body of work titled Biotop. These paintings depict imaginary landscapes – a meditative reflection on her personal perception of nature. Following a journey to Japan in 2018, Aurora Solberg has also been strongly inspired by materials and techniques from Nihonga– traditional Japanese watercolor painting.
